There are many beautiful venues in our city and we want to turn you on to Chicago’s best mid-sized music venue historic Park West. The theater is actually a multi-media venue and it is available for rentals as well. Park West is perfectly situated at the corner of Armitage in the south end of Lincoln Park. As a matter of fact, if you wore the kids out during family fun day at Lincoln Park Zoo, you can plan a nice evening of dancing and music just around the corner!
While Park West doesn’t often hold all-ages shows, there is definitely attention paid to attracting a wide audience. At the time of this writing, the young adults can get excited about Tape Face or Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque while some of us at a “certain age” will definitely appreciate and evening with Aimee Mann or an evening of the excellent bluegrass of The Infamous Stringdusters. Check the calendar often as really unique shows, “don’t miss” shows, are added frequently.
The actual physical layout of the venue is very attractive to all. Chicago’s Best has attended shows in the past and love the fact that you can dance on a gorgeous dance floor until you are ready to collapse and then make your way to table seating toward the rear. Unless you arrive super late for a sold out show, you won’t have to worry about holding up the walls in the back. If you are in Chicago attending a conference, Park West will most likely have a pretty spectacular show that will attract conference and convention attendees. Most concierge and hospitality hosts at our hotels and inns will know and assist you with ticket purchases.
Park West is easily accessible by car and public transportation. Catch the Armitage bus (73) or the Clark bus (22) and be dropped off right by the venue. Take the Brown Line (el) and connect with the Armitage Bus. Parking can be dicey in Lincoln Park so figure that in to your driving or grab a cab or uber! This gorgeous 1920s building hosts some of the best concerts in the city and is sure to provide you with an evening you won’t forget.
